Privacy First

In contrast to some proprietary messengers from large tech corporations, Element X does not mine user data or monitor communications, prioritizing your privacy at every step.

Ownership of Your Conversations

You have the option to choose where your data is hosted—whether on public servers like matrix.org or other providers, or on a privately hosted server under your own domain. This level of control distinguishes Element X from many other real-time communication tools. Regardless of hosting choice, ownership of the data remains yours; you are not the product and retain full control over your information.

Next-Generation Messaging with Element X

If you are still using the previous Element Classic app, it is advisable to transition to Element X. The newer application offers enhanced speed, usability, and features—improving upon its predecessor in every aspect. Continuous updates introduce new functionalities to enrich your experience.

The app requires the android.permission.REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES permission to facilitate seamless installation of applications received as attachments, providing convenient access to necessary software updates.

Additionally, it needs the USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT permission to ensure users receive call notifications effectively even when their devices are locked.
